These are the tallest buildings and structures located in the city of Orlando, Florida. All buildings and structures that are at least 400 feet high are listed. Though Orlando is inland from the ocean, there are plenty of lakes in the area and the city's skyline is beautiful set against a lake backdrop.

Roughly 240,000 people live in the city of Orlando, Florida, while over 2.3 million people live and work in the greater Orlando metro area. Tourism plays a huge role in the economy of Orlando, as up to 50 million people a year visit the area to go to Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando.

Fittingly, one of the tallest buildings in the city is a hotel, and it is situated next to the Orange County Convention Center. The tallest structure in the city is located at SeaWorld Orlando.

1. SunTrust Center - 441 feet

At 441 feet in height, the 35 floor SunTrust Center is the tallest building in Orlando, Florida. Located at 200 South Orange Avenue in the Central Business District in Downtown Orlando, the SunTrust Center was completed in 1988. It's believed the FAA does not want any buildings in Orlando taller than 441 feet, so SunTrust Center will probably stay the tallest building in Orlando for some time to come.

The top of the building has four pyramids on each corner, which are lit nightly in amber, which contrasts nicely with the top four floors that are lit in white.

At 428 feet in height, the 31 floor Peabody Orlando Hotel is the second tallest building in Orlando, and tallest hotel in the city. The Peabody Orlando is located at 9801 International Drive, next to the Orange County Convention Center. The hotel is also very close to Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Orlando. Originally built in 1986, The Peabody Orlando added the 34 story tower in 2010.

3. The Vue at Lake Eola - 426 feet

At 426 feet in height, the 35 story The Vue at Lake Eola is the third tallest building in Orlando, Florida. Located at 136 East Robinson Road, The Vue at Lake Eola is the tallest residential building in Orlando, as it contains condos and penthouse units. Completed in 2008, the top of the building is list in blue at night, and in green and red at Christmas time.

4. Orange County Courthouse - 416 feet

The 416 foot high, 24 floor Orange County Courthouse is the fourth tallest building in Orlando. Completed in 1997 at a cost of $100 million, the Orange County Courthouse is located at 425 North Orange Avenue. The building houses the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, as well as the Orange County's County Court.

5. Bank of America Center - 409 feet

Located at 390 North Orange Avenue, the 409 foot high, 28 floor Bank of America Center is the fifth tallest building in Orlando, Florida. Completed in 1988, the Bank of America Center stands out for the 10 spires protruding from the top.

6. SeaWorld SkyTower - 400 feet

At 400 feet in height, the SeaWorld SkyTower is the sixth tallest structure in the city of Orlando. Completed in 1973, the SeaWorld SkyTower is a popular observation tower that has a two-story pod that rotates 360 degrees while it takes visitors to the top of the tower. Located at 7007 SeaWorld Drive in SeaWorld Orlando, the tower is adorned with lights from the ground to the top Christmas time, making it the tallest Christmas tree in Florida.
