Located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Ave and 12th Street in Washington DC is the the Old Post Office Building or Pavilion Castle.Built from 1892-1899 in Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style this castle-like fortress building is a big tourist attraction in Washington DC today. Visitors to the Old Post Office Castle can travel to a 270 foot high observation deck at the top of the clock tower which at 315 feet in height is the 3rd tallest building in Washington DC.
Brewmaster's Castle or the Christian Heurich Mansion
Located at 1307 New Hampshire Avenue, NW in the DuPont Circle neighborhood in Washington DC is the Brewmaster's Castle which is also known as the Christian Heurich Mansion. Built from 1892-1894 by millionaire beer brewer and German immigrant Christian Heurich the Brewmaster's Castle today is open to the public for walk-in tours Thursdays-Saturdays and on Wednesdays by appointment. The Brewmaster's Castle is also available to be rented out for weddings, parties and special events.
Swann House Castle
Located at 1808 New Hampshire Avenue NW in the DuPont Circle neighborhood in Washington DC is the Swan House Castle. Built in 1883 for architect Walter Paris today the Swann House Castle is a bed and breakfast hotel inn that can be rented out for weddings, parties and special occasions that is within walking distance of the White House.
Located on the National Mall in Washington DC is the Smithsonian Castle which is often just called The Castle. Built from 1847-1855 the Smithsonian Castle was the first of the Smithsonian buildings.
